Stream Configuration

The Stream Configuration page can be used to add, edit, update and delete Streams.

Creating a Streamer Stream

  1. Click the + New Stream button and select Streamer from the dropdown.
  2. Give your new Stream a name and select the Streamer from the list of Application Identifiers. Then, select video source and audio source (if any) from the chosen Streamer.
    • By default, a Streamer's Application Identifier will be the name of the machine it's running on, though this can be configured.
  3. Click the Create button.

1 Performaar uses the H.264 codec for recording and streaming, and by default, the Unconstrained Variable Bitrate (UVBR) mode is used when encoding. The configured bitrate is actually the desired average, and the actual bitrate will depend on the content being captured.

Troubleshooting

After selecting a Streamer, the Video Source and Audio Source inputs only have the None option?
This can happen if the Streamer is currently offline. Ensure the Streamer is online and connected to Server, then refresh the page.

Creating an RTSP Stream

  1. Click the + New Stream button and select RTSP from the dropdown.
  2. Give your new Stream a name and enter the RTSP URL.
  3. Click the Create button.

Creating a DIS Stream

  1. Click the + New Stream button and select DIS from the dropdown.
  2. Give your new Stream a name and enter the Port number the DIS packets will be received on.
  3. Optionally, you can add an IP address to filter incoming DIS packets. If present, only packets originating from the specified IP address will be recorded by this Stream.
  4. Click the Create button.
