Licensing
Activating a License
- Open the Performaar UI in a web browser and log in.
- Navigate to Settings > Licensing.
- Download the Activation Request file.
- Downloading a Activation Request file requires administrative privilges within Performaar.
- Navigate to https://licensing.secondwavexr.com.
- This requires internet access. If your current machine does not have internet access the Activation Request file should be transferred to a different machine that does.
- Enter your license key, associated email address and upload the Activation Request file. A verification code will be sent to the email address to confirm your identity.
- Enter the verification code on the site. Once processed, the License file should be automatically downloaded.
- If you had to move the Activation Request file to a separate machine in Step 4 you should transfer the License file back to the original machine now.
- Back in Performaar's UI, upload the license file on the Settings > Licensing page.
Your Performaar instance should now be licensed.
Instances of Performaar Streamer do not need to be licenses separately. See below for more details on how Performaar's licensing works.
Active Streams
Performaar's licensing is based on "Active Streams" i.e. the number of simultaneous live-streams, playbacks and recordings. This means you can install Streamer on as many machines as you'd like, and configure as many Streams and Sessions as you'd like. The only thing being limited is how many of them you can live-stream, playback, or record at the same time.
An activated license for Performaar will define the maximum number of Active Streams you can have. Note that Active Stream counts for live-streams, playbacks and recordings are tracked separately. For example, if you have a license that allows 4 Active Streams, you can view 4 live-streams, playback 4 videos, and record 4 Streams all at the same time.
