First Recording
Before starting your first Recording, ensure that the following conditions are met:
- Performaar Server has been installed on a machine, has been licensed and is running.
- Performaar Streamer has been installed on at least one machine. This can be the same machine that Server is installed on.
Connecting Streamer and Server
You can skip this step if Server and Streamer are installed on the same machine and Server is using its default configuration.
To connect Streamer to Server you need to know Server's URL, which will usually be of the form
http://<ip address or hostname>:<port>. By default, Server listens on port 9091.
The recommended way to configure Streamer with the Server's URL is using the SW_STREAMER_SERVER_URL Environment
Variable.
Once configured, you can start Streamer and see a successful connection message in the console.
When a Streamer connects for the first time a "Default" Stream consisting of the Streamer machine's primary monitor and default speaker is automatically created. Documentation on creating additional Streamer Streams can be found here.
