Core Concepts

Performaar's User Interface

Performaar provides a browser-based UI for interacting with all its features. This UI is served by the Performaar Server and is accessible by navigating to Server's URL, which will usually be of the form http://<ip address or hostname>:<port>. By default, Server listens on port 9091.

Streams, Sessions & Recordings

In Server, video and audio sources from each Streamer can be combined into one or more Streams. Performaar also supports creating Streams for DIS and RTSP data.

Multiple Streams can then be combined into a Session. A Session can be live-streamed to view all the contained Streams in a predefined layout. Sessions can also be Recorded, which will save all video, audio, and data from each Stream into files on disk.

Existing Recordings are available for synchronized playback, with the ability to play, pause, and seek. Recordings can also be annotated with bookmarks and tags.

Data Dashboard

Licensed Feature

Recordings with DIS and other data can also be viewed in a data dashboard. Information and metrics derived from the raw data are shown in the dashboard as graphs, plots, and other visual elements to support quick analysis and easy identification of outcomes.

User Management

Performaar has built-in user account management and configurable access control. User accounts can be created by administrators, and each user account can be assigned fine-tuned permissions for Streamers, Streams, Sessions & Recordings. For more details, see the User Management documentation.

tip

Server has one in-built user account with administrative privileges with the username administrator and password administrator.
